Non-Executive Directors

Angela Monaghan - Chair

Chair of the Non-Executive team is Brighouse resident Angela Monaghan. Angela has served as an NHS Non-Executive Director since May 2002 and as Chair of NHS Calderdale since 2008. Her professional background is in local regeneration and charity management and she has been a Chief Executive of both national and regional charities.

Angela has a lifelong commitment to community and public service and has volunteered with a number of organisations in Calderdale, including the National Childbirth Trust, Lightcliffe Out of School Club and Brighouse High School, where she was a parent governor.

Roger Grasby - Vice Chair

Wakefield resident Roger Grasby was Chair of NHS Wakefield District for five years. Prior to that, he served as a Non-Executive Director on various NHS Boards and, from 1990 to 1999, was the Chief Executive of the North Yorkshire Training and Enterprise Council. Currently Roger holds a number of positions within the district. He is a member of the West Yorkshire Police Authority, a Justice of the Peace, and a non-legal member of the Employment Tribunal. He is also a representative on the Members' Council for South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of Spectrum Community Health CIC.

Keith Wright (Audit Committee Chair)

Keith Wright lives in Rishworth and is a qualified accountant who has worked in the public and private sector. Since 1989 he has worked for the NHS and Department of Health leading to his appointment as Regional Director of Finance. His experience has given him an understanding of how well managed NHS organisations can make a real difference to people's lives. He has been a Non-Executive Director at NHS Calderdale since 2006.

Sandra Cheseldine

Kirkhamgate's Sandra Cheseldine was a senior manager in the Personal and Consumer Finance Audit Department of HSBC Bank plc, working for them for 30 years before taking early retirement in 2006. In 2007, she was appointed Chair of the Trustee Board for Wakefield Citizens Advice Bureau and has served as a Non-Executive Director for NHS Wakefield District since October 2006.

Roy Coldwell

Triangle resident Roy Coldwell is a chartered Chemist with over 30 years experience in operations management. Roy holds executive and non-executive roles in Manufacturing and Consultancy, including being a Trustee for a Science Discovery Centre. Roy is passionate about customer service and business improvement. He has been a Non-Executive Director at Calderdale since 2009.

Ann Liston

Born in Lancashire, Ann Liston moved to Yorkshire over 30 years ago. Ann spent more than 20 years in the Post Office, working in local and national roles in both Royal Mail and Post Office Counters. After taking early retirement from the Post Office, Ann retrained as a counsellor and now works as a counsellor and external training manager in a voluntary organisation in Leeds. She is an independent member of the West Yorkshire Police Authority and has been a Non-Executive Director at NHS Calderdale since 2006.



Tony Gerrard

Tony is a self employed Management Consultant, specialising in resource management. He was previously employed as Head of Resources (Lifelong Learning) at Kirklees Council. Tony has an MBA qualification and holds professional qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. He lives in Holmfirth.


Mehboob Khan

Mehboob lives in Edgerton, and was a Non-Executive Director of the former Huddersfield Central PCT. He is the leader of Kirklees Council and has 12 years experience in local government. He holds a degree in Business and Finance.
