Mid Yorkshire Clinical Services Strategy
The NHS in Mid Yorkshire wants local people to help shape the future of health and social care.
We are developing plans and proposals which may lead to a public consultation from December 2012.
The views of patients are a very important part of the process to help us plan the future of local health services.
More than 500 people have already told us what is important to them in relation to hospital services. More details can be found here.
These views have been fed back to healthcare workers and also to people working on the future organisation of local health and social care services.
There are significant financial challenges at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, so as well as maintaining high quality and safe services, we also need to consider some changes to help the hospital trust save money as we transform health and social care for the future.
We are looking at a range of options to identify what changes need to be made.
We are taking into consideration the ways in which we can do things differently in GP practices, hospitals and in community care. Through talking to people it is clear that most patients would like to be treated and cared for as close to home as possible and we need to look beyond the hospitals if we are to truly provide healthcare that is fit for the future.

We are really grateful to everyone who has given us their feedback - your views really are important to us.
