Your experience of urgent healthcare services within Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield
What are urgent healthcare services?
‘Urgent care’ describes the NHS services you use when you need advice or treatment immediately, but which is not an emergency or life-threatening. It is also sometimes called ‘unplanned’ or ‘unscheduled’ care.
Urgent healthcare needs can arise at any time of the day or night and any day of the week, including bank holidays and therefore urgent care services need to be able to respond at these times when normal services may not be available.
We asked for your views
We set up a new urgent care system in 2008, the West Yorkshire Urgent Care Service.
The contract for this service is coming to an end soon and we wanted your views on what a new service should look like and to hear about your experiences of the current service.
The engagement ended on 5th March 2012. You can view the results of the engagement here.
Further information about West Yorkshire Urgent Care Services as well as the new national NHS 111 service can be found here.
