Actions to address data gaps

n creating a report on the equality information we hold as an organisation it became clear that we have some good information and we have some very good examples of work we have done to commission high quality responsive services to the public of Calderdale and to support our staff.
However it also became clear that we do not know all that we have, there is no comprehensive system to record the data and that we do not always use what we have to its best advantage.

To make sure that this situation improves over the next 12 months we will work to ensure;
•    we have better systems in place to monitor all equality characteristics for our staff and for those services we commission (through contract management)
•    we make clearer the links between this data and the decisions we make
•    that all decisions which may have an impact on equality groups are thoroughly equality impact assessed and that this is used by those taking the decision
•    we will look at what each group is telling us and whether it is different from what other people are saying and try to understand this
