Caring for someone

Many carers don’t see themselves as carers. They just think they are daughters, sons, parents, relatives. There’s lots of support and advice available so make sure you find out what you’re entitled to. Everyone needs time off once in a while so don’t forget about yourself. You need to stay fit and strong. Talking to other carers going through the same thing can really help.

A district nurse might be able to help with practical, everyday things or you could consider taking a Looking After Me course - a six week programme for unpaid carers who want to make time to look after their own health needs.
