Care homes

Tackling HCAI (Healthcare Associated Infections) is a key priority for the NHS and social care.  The Health and Social Care Act 2008: Code of Practice for healthcare and adult social care on the prevention and control of healthcare associated infection and related guidance (known as The Code) reinforces this with statutory legislation.

Many of the care homes within Kirklees have been visited by the Infection Prevention and Control Team who have undertaken an audit as well as offering support and advice. The information provided on this page has proved to be useful to home staff to promote infection prevention and control within their homes.
