Learning disabilities

People with learning disabilities are more likely to have a health problem than other people. Some people with learning disabilities do not know what services are there to help them. That is why we have developed a health action plan to enable them to get the services they need to stay well and healthy.

VIP Hospital Passport

This passport is for when you come into hospital to be a patient. This should be used along with your VIP Card.

Vulnerable In-Patient (VIP) Card

The Vulnerable In-Patient (VIP) card has been developed by Kirklees Council Valuing People Team, NHS Kirklees, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Calderdale Council and South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, for people who have a learning disability. The card holds information such as contact numbers, allergies, or the type of support the person may need if they were in an emergency and had to go to hospital.
